Age UK Lamage uk lambethbeth has compiled an Older People’s Information Directory for older people in Lambeth and Southwark. It contains details of services and support for older people; for use by professionals, service users and their carers.
What is it for?
The aim of the directory is to help health and social care professionals look beyond their immediate sphere of influence, understand service configuration in a new way and keep up with the pace of change. It will enable improvements in support for older people and their carers in relation to preventing and reducing the impact of crises which could result in admittance to acute hospital services or residential care packages. It also aims to promote smaller voluntary and community groups, and some relevant businesses, so that more older people are aware of the support available locally. There is no fee to have an organisation represented on the directory, and Age UK Lambeth will not sell on any information.
How do I use it?
The Older People’s Information Directory is a website designed to make accessing information as simple and straightforward as possible. It is publicly accessible and searchable, or you can also view by category such as “Staying Active”, or in an A-Z list. Each listing can be viewed in more detail with links to related information such as factsheets. Users can also save favourite pages within the Older People’s Information Directory and print or email them to others.
The directory has a collection of various local and national services ranging from housing to social clubs but is initially focussed on the health topics set out by Southwark and Lambeth Integrated Care (dementia, nutrition, falls and infections).
How will it be kept accurate?
The directory has staff dedicated to building up the information on services and checking that the information is up-to-date. There is also an “issue” button alongside each entry so that users of the directory can let staff know of any updates or problems with the entry.
Can I use it now?
Yes – the directory can be accessed through the Age UK Lambeth website homepage or on http://directory.ageuklambeth.org.uk/ You are welcome to use it and feedback on the directory is very welcome. Please contact Rose Booker on 020 7733 0528 or rose.booker@ageuklambeth.org.uk for further information.
