Youth Champions with Healthwatch Southwark.

Are you aged 14 to 24? Would you like to make a difference to how health and social care is delivered in your community?

Become a Youth Champion for Healthwatch Southwark!

Healthwatch Youth Champions will have an opportunity to ‘Enter and View’ or to visit local health and social care services in the borough to talk to service users and their family, friends and carers, as well as staff about their experience of the service. Healthwatch then work with the Enter and View Youth Champions to write a report for the provider and make recommendations for change and to highlight best practice.

Youth Champions will also have an opportunity to find out about the health experiences of young people and be instrumental in making the voices of young people count.

For more information on the training please contact the Healthwatch Southwark Team on 020 7358 7005 or email info@healthwatchsouthwark.co.uk.

Get Safe Online.

18 – 25 year olds are most defrauded job seekers in Britain

School leavers and graduates are the most defrauded job-seekers

1 in 4 of people scammed has suffered significant negative impact on their health or financial well-being

Hundreds of thousands of soon-to-be-graduates and school leavers will start the hunt for their dream job in the next few months as their final year of college or university comes to an end. With over two thirds of all graduates starting their search online, Get Safe Online, the public private joint internet safety initiative, is urging them to take precautions while looking for jobs.

Figures from the City of London Police’s National Fraud Intelligence Bureau based on actual reported crimes across UK police forces show that in 2014, the most defrauded job-seekers were between the ages of 18 and 25. Those aged 23 are the most likely to fall victim to scams when job hunting online.

Pocket Living – coming soon to your estate?

pockethomes

‘Resolution to grant planning’ on two new Pocket buildings in Sail Street and Juxon Street SE11 granted by councillors in Lambeth.

Pocket Living is backed by Mayor Boris Johnson. Flats are smaller than the existing minimum space standard for a one-bedroom new build. The UK already has some of the smallest space standards in Europe for flats. There is no parking and the company does not offer social housing.
