Public Exhibition: KCN Land’s proposals for 74-84 Long Lane

KCN Land would like to invite you to our public consultation displaying proposals for the redevelopment of 74-84 Long Lane, SE1. We are proposing an office-led building that has been sympathetically designed to minimise impacts on neighbouring buildings.

The exhibitions will take place on:

  • Saturday 7th September: 10.00am to 1.00pm
  • Monday 9th September: 4.30pm to 8.00pm

The events will take place on-site via an entrance off Pilgrimage Street.

Shopping centre legal challenge next week!

Dear Friend

The hearing for our challenge to the shopping centre planning approval is just over a week away.

We will be holding a rally in support of the challenge on –
Wednesday 17 July 2019 –
9am – 10am, outside the Royal Courts of Justice
the Strand
London WC2A 2LL

The case will be then heard from 10am – it is open to the public, so all are welcome to attend!

We are fighting this case to get more social housing and a better deal for the traders at the Elephant. To do this we must first overturn developer Delancey’s gentrifying plans – that is why we are going to court.

Thanks to your help we have raised nearly £8,000 through our CrowdJustice appeal (donations still welcome!) and we have a great legal team.

But we need your support at the hearing too, to show Delancey that the local community is fed up and angry with bullying developers. You can read more here and, for Spanish, here.

Bermondsey Carnival, Saturday 6th July from 12 noon to 8pm

Bermondsey carnival banner 2Join us for an exciting free programme of music, dance and creativity. The day includes a live music programme headlined by The Real Thing, children’s workshops, a funfair, world foods stalls and Rumble in the Jumble.

Bermondsey Carnival will bring an exciting free programme of music, dance and events to Southwark Park on Saturday 6 July from 12 noon to 8pm. This year is extra special as we celebrate Southwark Park’s 150th birthday. The music line up will be headlined by The Real Thing and there will be free family and children’s workshops.

 

 

 

 

Shopping Centre Legal Challenge, CrowdJustice launch – Tuesday March 5th 2019

CrowdJustice launch – TUES MARCH 5 2019

We are now very close to launching our CrowdJustice appeal for funds to quash the Elephant shopping centre planning approval.

We have had two great fundraising events, with the Distriandina Party and the Film Night.  We have now set a target of £5000 for our CrowdJusticecrowdfunding appeal.

CAN YOU MAKE A DONATION?

Can you get help us off to a flying start?  Can you make a donation on the first day of our appeal on TUES 5 MARCH 2019?

We then have only 30 days to reach our target of £5000. If we can raise a good chunk of this in the first couple of days it will encourage others to donate.

The donation can be any amount – all are welcome, big or small!

Delancey want to build nearly a thousand new homes, but only 116  will be social rented – and we will have to wait nearly ten years to get them. Delancey may even get away with providing no social rented housing at all.

We think this is wrong and that is why we are going to court to try to overturn the permission.  We want at least 42 more social rented homes and we know the Mayor has the money to pay for them.  We want a better deal for shopping centre traders – a bigger relocation fund and lower rents.

Our community deserves a development scheme that provides homes and shops that are truly affordable for local people, not one that short-changes us.
