‘Resolution to grant planning’ on two new Pocket buildings in Sail Street and Juxon Street SE11 granted by councillors in Lambeth.

Pocket Living is backed by Mayor Boris Johnson. Flats are smaller than the existing minimum space standard for a one-bedroom new build. The UK already has some of the smallest space standards in Europe for flats. There is no parking and the company does not offer social housing.

Neighbourhoods Fund – 18 days to go!

New Neighbourhoods Fund 2015/16

A new Neighbourhoods Fund worth £542,000 (borough wide) was launched on 5th January, combining the Community Council Fund and the Cleaner Greener Safer Revenue fund into one simple application process.

The Neighbourhoods Fund will allow community councils to make decisions locally on neighbourhood priorities and provide the means of getting good ideas off the ground. We are looking for applications which recognises the importance of local action by communities, in developing relationships, making neighbourhoods come to life, and increasing skills and abilities which mean communities can grow from strength to strength.

#CHATBACK at The Ministry of Sound.

#CHATBACK is an exciting and informative free event for the young people (11-19) of Southwark.

The event will take place 20 February 2015 at The Ministry of Sound, it is a ticket only event.

Performances from up and coming young talent from around Southwark, including dancers, actors, singers, spoken word and rap.  Creative performances that show the housing issues that young people can experience and how this can impact on them. Therefore the reason why young people do need to have a voice and should get involved and sign up to the new CHATBACK social media sites that have been created as a new way for young people to have a say.

To get tickets for this event young people must sign up to CHATBACK social media or call.

To give a sense of the kind of data YouGov will be offering and to show how it might be useful, they’ve taken a look at the central London constituency of Bermondsey and Old Southwark. It is where their launch event took place last night (on HMS Belfast), and is also the home of City Hall, the office of Mayor Boris Johnson.

Your creative piece could be a written story, poem, artwork, photography, a rap or piece of spoken word. It’s up to you.

The closing date for your entry is midnight, 31 January 2015.

We will be unable to return any entries but they can be collected at the end of our free ticketed event on 20 February 2015.
