Chelsea Fringe activities at Elephant park

In just a few short years the Chelsea Fringe has grown from a bright idea into a global festival of ‘grass roots’ gardening.

For this year’s Chelsea Fringe, which runs from 19 to 27 May, Elephant Park is playing host to a range of community-focused activities that will bring to life the joys of growing and green spaces.

In total, four events will be held next week which are free for all the community to attend.

Kicking off on Tuesday 22 May with the first ever Green Links Walk from Elephant Park to Burgess Park, and culminating on Saturday 26 May with Flowerful Elephant, a fun-filled day celebrating the area’s local gardens, growing groups, green spaces and the horticultural history.

To find out more about the different events please visit the Elephant Park website here.

Happy New Year from everyone at Age UK Lambeth

Dear Friend,

We hope that you have had a fantastic Christmas and new year and that you are looking forward to what 2018 will bring you.  At Age UK Lambeth we spent 2017 empowering thousands of older people to achieve a full quality of life culminating in our Christmas Day Dinner for 40 people who would otherwise be on their own.

Our 2018 new year’s resolutions are to reach more people, continue to grow and improve our services and raise more money to pay for all of this!  Please read on for ways that you could make a resolution to support our resolutions.

ac1

Get Fit – why not sign up for a 25km, 50km or 100km ultra challenge to inspire you to get fit and raise money for Age UK Lambeth?  There are 8 challenges to choose from and if you sign up before February 11th you can get 2 for 1 on registration fees.  Find a friend and sign up today!!! Click here to find out more and register (remember to choose Age UK Lambeth as your charity).

ac2

Volunteer – volunteering is a great way to give back to your community in your spare time. We have many roles available including joining a local events fundraising group and befriending. Email bev@ageuklambeth.org for more information.

ac3

Give something up – if you are quitting something in 2018 why not donate the money that you save to Age UK Lambeth.  You can make a donation here

ac4

Write a will – Approximately 2/3 of adults have not written a will and 1/3 will go on to die intestate meaning their final wishes will go unheeded. If your new year’s resolution is to get organised and write a will this year then please consider leaving a legacy to Age UK Lambeth. You can find out more by clicking here.

ac5

Have more fun -if you haven’t already then why not join My Social? Open to all ages and with FREE membership, being a member of MYsocial gives you access to our calendar of events. We want to help you discover friendships, connect with your community, and do things that make you happy. Click here to find out more and join.

ac6

Experience the thrill of a lifetime – if you really want to challenge yourself in 2018 then why not sign up to do a skydive and raise money for us? The ‘drop-zone’ is less than 60 minutes from London and is organised through UK Skydive. Find out more here.
We hope our list has given you some inspiration. Whatever you choose to do in 2018 and whether you set any new years resolutions or not, we hope that you will be doing it alongside Age UK Lambeth.

Thank you for supporting us, best wishes
