Want to make someone’s day? Talk to people, share your knowledge or gain new skills?

As a Volunteer Visitor Host you’ll offer a warm welcome to our visitors, chat to them about what’s on in the gallery and help them make the most out of their visit to Tate.

Volunteering at Tate is fun, you’ll spend time in a great place, meet new people and have the chance to learn and develop new skills. It’s also a manageable commitment – just a few hours a month.

We welcome all enquiries from the local community, no matter what your background or experience – you just need to enjoy helping other people and want to be part of the gallery.

Visit Tate and find out more at one of our Volunteer Taster Sessions:

Wednesday 17th February, Tate Modern
15.00- 16.30

or

Saturday 20th February, Tate Modern
12.00-13.30

At the Taster Session we’ll introduce you to the gallery and our current volunteer opportunity: Volunteer Visitor Host – a welcoming front of house role positioned at the gallery entrances at Tate Modern.

To book a place on a Taster Session please email volunteer@tate.org.uk with your preferred date.

For more information about the Visitor Host role please contact Emma Burgess and Frances Robinson, Volunteers Managers on 020 7401 5267 or email emma.burgess@tate.org.uk and/or frances.robinson@tate.org.uk

Places are limited, but we’ll hold more Tasters in future. We’ll reimburse your travel costs up to the cost of a Zone 6 Travelcard.

Our volunteer opportunities are like our art galleries, open to all.

Street Elite employability programme.

Women's A5 flyer_Final

Street Elite is an employability programme for young women and girls aged 16 to 24 living in the borough of Southwark which uses sport, mentoring and community engagement to help raise aspirations and increase employability with genuine exit routes into employment. Participants get a free tracksuit and they get paid to turn up. The initial commitment is just for 2 hours 1 night a week.

I have attached a flyer for the programme and would be extremely grateful if you could distribute to young people within your network and other colleagues you think that you think would be appropriate.

Kind regards,

Hello!

The Unicorn Theatre is looking to start a FREE regular term-time after-school Drama club from January/February 2016 to take place weekly at the Tabard Community Hall/Hanky hall open to resident children and young people from Tabard Gardens and neighbouring estates. The Unicorn Theatre is a leading children’s theatre on Tooley Street, London Bridge.

We are still working out the details and we would like to talk to families and children about this exciting opportunity!

We are inviting families from Tabard Gardens to meet us at the Tabard Community Hall on Monday 21st December at 1.30pm – 4pm for some festive fun!

On the 21st, there will be a FREE Drama taster workshop run by the Unicorn Theatre for 7-12 year olds, there will be a making activity for all ages and some festive snacks. There will be an opportunity to talk to Sally who works at the Unicorn about the Tabard Gardens Drama club – if you want to express your interest and sign up.

Please note, that children must be accompanied by an adult at all times on the 21st. Places on the taster Drama workshop are limited and will run at a set time so please do contact Sally to book your child a place on the free Drama workshop.
