Tabard Gardens North T&RA will be working with Balin House Projects to bring you a fantastic programme of Gardening and Drama workshops this winter. Join our skilled and lovely experts as they show you how to plan a garden with an expert, learn about endangered species from UK, take part in drawing activities. A theatre director will also deliver workshops with a complete activity of building up a story, acting, writing and drawing. The workshops will also involve a professional illustrator working with a Risograph machine to print out all the drawings for a future book.

These workshops will be punctuated by visits to local institutions such as The Unicorn Theatre, Tate Modern, Abbey Gardens and more.

All workshops are free but spaces are limited so please book your child’s place in advance to avoid disappointment.

The nights are drawing in and festive season is just around the corner, which means our annual Winter Fair is fast approaching. This year’s theme is Festivities Around the World.

Discover handmade gifts, sample tasty treats, get creative with our fun family activities and enjoy an exciting programme of live music and entertainment.

In the meantime don’t forget to pick up your Morley Winter Fair Raffle ticket, now on sale at reception! Be in with a chance to win prizes from the Coca-Cola London Eye, the Kia Oval and from many of our stall holders. Tickets cost £1 with money raised going towards supporting students through the Morley bursary fund.

Questionnaire
The Council has today had its delivery contractors distribute our questionnaire to all addresses in our neighbourhood. This process has taken longer than we had hoped and thus the notice of our next meeting in the questionnaire is shorter than we had hoped.

Next Meeting
The next meeting of the Forum is next Wednesday in Tabard Community Hall (Hankey Hall) at 6.30pm. The meeting will update on the consultation process and the progress of the various working groups so far.

Update
As a quick update, the initial meeting of the ‘Heritage and Conservation’ working group was held on 21 October (minutes) with the identification of a set of provisional policies. The meeting was well attended with members of BVAG, BSAP, Team London Bridge and a representative from the Council, all contributing ideas for the neighbourhood plan. A further meeting will be called in a few weeks when there are expected to be a number of draft policies to discuss (and add to).

The ‘Open Spaces and Nature’ group had their first meeting on 11 November (minutes) and discussed their main areas of focus and agreed that more research on the Council’s Open space strategy (link) and current policy is needed to form a more proactive set of policies and give scope for further inclusion in future. A further meeting is therefore expected before Christmas. Details to follow.
