Are you a young person living or studying in the borough of Southwark and ages 11 to 19?

We want you to submit a creative piece of work:

A written story
poem
artwork
photography
rap
audio or video

…that tells us your story about your housing experience:

Describe where you live?
What are your concerns about housing?
What is your ideal future home, what will it look like and where will it be?

All entries must be submitted with an official entry form.

The closing date for entries is midnight on 31st January 2015

If you (or someone you know) will be alone on Christmas Day why not come along to our Party at Bacon’s College on December 25. We offer:

· Free Traditional Christmas Meals and Entertainment.

· Free Transport Door to Door

“Banter” or harassment? 6.30pm 16th December

To mark the launch of the Women’s Safety Charter, Southwark Council will be hosting an exciting, thought provoking panel discussion. We’ll be discussing when ‘banter’ becomes harassment, why harassment happens and how to create a culture where women feel safe on a night out.

We are very excited to announce that the panelists will be:

Sara Pascoe, comedian; Sara’s appearances include Stand Up for the Week, The Thick of It, Mock the Week,  and Twenty Twelve and her show Sara Pascoe vs History was nominated for the Foster’s Edinburgh Comedy Award 2014 for Best Comedy Show

  • Shahlaa Tahira, Reprezent Radio presenter and Capital FM producer
  • Rhiannon Lucy Cosslett, Vagenda founder,  journalist and co-author of The Vagenda: A Zero Tolerance Guide to the Media
  • Rosamund Urwin, Evening Standard columnist and feature writer
  • Chris Steward,  founder of True Lad website
  • Susuana Antunam, NUS national women’s officer.

The event will take place on the evening of Tuesday 16 December at the Keyworth Centre, Southbank University. Doors open at 6pm and the event starts at 6.30pm, followed by time for refreshments and networking from 7:45pm.

Latin American Market – first 3 Sundays in December

Plaza Latina is taking place in Nursery Row Park between noon and 6pm for the next three Sundays 7, 14 and 21st December, Plaza Latina is a 3- day Latin American inspired Christmas market with music, dance, food, and arts and craft stalls.

Next Sunday 7th December the Colombian dancer Fernando Montaño will open the event – fresh from performing for the Prince of Wales and Duchess of Cornwall in his native Colombia, the world-class ballet dancer will also be performing his own piece inspired by legendary East Street resident Charlie Chaplin. Joined by special guests this promises to be a unique experience for all.
