Joint Security Initiative (JSI) programme 2015-2016
The Southwark Council Joint Security Initiative (JSI) 2015-2016 programme is now open for application. The broad aims of this programme are:
· To contribute to Housing & Community Services’ delivery of the strategic objectives in the Council Plan
· Input to the crime and disorder strategy by reducing issues that affect people the most, linked to the fear of crime and wellbeing.
· Involve residents in solution solving partnerships to tackle local problems.
· Reduce barriers to involvement
· Promote inclusive and cohesive communities
You are eligible to apply if you are:
· Tenants and residents associations
· Tenant management organisations
· Area housing forums
· Service provider working with the above groups
Potential applicants are encouraged to attend the JSI workshop scheduled for Thursday 19th February 2015. Judging by the standard of applications submitted to the programme last year, the applications submitted by applicants who attended the workshop were generally of good standard. The programme for the workshop is in the application pack.
The deadline for submission of completed application is Monday 16th March 2015 at 5pm. Please note that late applications will not be considered.

Neighbourhoods Fund – 18 days to go!
New Neighbourhoods Fund 2015/16
A new Neighbourhoods Fund worth £542,000 (borough wide) was launched on 5th January, combining the Community Council Fund and the Cleaner Greener Safer Revenue fund into one simple application process.
The Neighbourhoods Fund will allow community councils to make decisions locally on neighbourhood priorities and provide the means of getting good ideas off the ground. We are looking for applications which recognises the importance of local action by communities, in developing relationships, making neighbourhoods come to life, and increasing skills and abilities which mean communities can grow from strength to strength.

Team London Bridge – Small Grants Fund 2015/2016
This is a reminder that the 2015/16 Small Grants Fund is currently open for applications until 5pm, 30 January 2015.
If you are a local charity, Tenants and Residents Association or community group looking for funding to deliver a project that supports young people in the London Bridge and Bermondsey area then we want to hear from you!
Team London Bridge’s annual Small Grants Fund contributes £500 to £2,000 to local community projects that are dedicated to improving development and educational opportunities for local young people (ages 5-19).
Any application should include projects that address one or more of the following criteria:
– To encourage positive youth engagement
– To provide basic life skills
– To provide extra educational opportunities

Neighbourhoods Fund 2015
Do you have good ideas for projects that would help to make your community stronger and your neighbourhood nicer? The new Neighbourhoods Fund may be able to help.
The community councils have £542,000 to spend on community led projects, which encourage people from different backgrounds to work together, and promote respect and consideration, and give communities the opportunity to improve their local area.
Have a look at the information sheet to find out more, including how much you could apply for and what sort of projects will be considered.
Please also refer to the guidance notes to help you complete the application form.
To apply for funding you can go directly to the Neighbourhoods Fund online application form. However, we advise that you first register with My Southwark when prompted, as this will allow you to complete, view, save, retrieve and print your application. Also you can access many other useful online applications forms, including the community councils’ online forums.
Please ensure that you select the correct community council area where your intended activity will take place. If you are still unsure, you can check the address or postcode online.

Cleaner Greener Safer (CGS) 2015/16
The Shere House Sculpture Garden.
For the past 12 years, the CGS capital programme has helped to transform Southwark through ideas proposed by local residents. From new play opportunities and sports facilities, to community gardens and food growing projects, the programme has supported healthier lifestyles and helped build communities. Fencing and lighting projects have created safer environments and problem spaces prone to anti-social behaviour have been transformed with innovative ideas and designs.
The closing date for applications is Friday 7 November 2014.
