Southwark Residents Say No – Saving Southwark

SSN

We love Southwark and value the friendly, co-operative, supportive nature of our community.

But now we feel that our neighbourhood is under threat.

Many residents, individuals and groups, are deeply worried about the planning policies of Southwark Council.

Far too many tower blocks are being given planning consent. Many loved and valued older buildings have been destroyed, or are scheduled for demolition.

These policy decisions threaten to break up our community and destroy our neighbourhood.

The groups and individuals listed here are committed to making their feelings clear to Southwark Council, and to campaigning against these damaging policies.

Ultra Low Emission Zone consultation, ends Friday 9th January

TFL would like your views on the proposed Ultra Low Emission Zone which would operate 24 hours a day, 7 days a week in the same area as the Congestion Charging zone.

All cars, motorcycles, vans, minibuses, and heavy vehicles would need to meet a new emission standard or pay a daily charge to travel within the zone. The proposed daily Ultra Low Emission Zone charge would be in addition to the existing Congestion Charge.

The zone would be introduced from 2020 and aims to encourage the use of newer, cleaner vehicles, reducing vehicle pollution by half.

To find out more and to have your say, please visit

This consultation ends on Friday 9 January 2015
