CHAUCER WARD PANEL MEETING – CANCELLED!!

Hello Chaucer Ward,

Due to the guidance about gatherings which are no longer supported by government. The MET has now given the advice to cancel our Ward events in the interest of personal and public safety regarding the coronavirus.

We will keep you updated with further information and when the next available date will be set for the Panel Meeting.

If you have any issues regarding ASB around the ward please call 101 or 999 at the time of the incident happening. You can email us regarding on going issues so that we can patrol the problem areas.

Leaving News!!!! I will be leaving Chaucer SNT on 5th April 2020 this will be my last day. I am moving to Bishops SNT on Lambeth. I will miss not being able to say a personal goodbye but want to say that I have enjoyed working with and serving the residents who live on the ward for the last 7 years. Nigel and Richard will keep the ward patrolled and do their best to help with the issues that arise.

Keep well

Regards

Chaucer Safer Neighbourhood Police Team – Post EU Referendum

Dear Members Working and Living in the Chaucer Ward,

Post Referendum Key Messages

We are aware that significant events at home or abroad can increase intolerance, hate or extremism

We have come together as part of the national #westandtogether campaign and have shown that all communities stand united against all hate and intolerance

Hate crime and extremism is usually perpetrated by a small minority people who try to divide communities but this has no effect where strong community cohesion exists

Dedicated Ward Officers are familiar and well known figures in local neighbourhoods – we provide reassurance and support and work hard to develop strong relationships with our local communities. Please contact us and we will be pleased to hear from you and provide any help that we can

Our community engagement plans will ensure we work closely with local communities to understand how they are feeling; focus our resources at times and in locations where our communities needs us the most and use all MPS resources to provide a visible policing presence across London

Hate crime is not acceptable and will not be tolerated. Please report all incidents hate crime, no matter how small, as soon as possible. We have 900 specialist detectives whose role it is to catch offenders and bring them to justice. Please report all hate crime to 999 in an emergency, to 101 in a non-emergency or directly to an officer or at a police station

If you have any concerns, no matter how small, then please contact your local neighbourhood teams. If you have information to offer please telephone 101 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555111

Since the UK EU Referendum there has been no reported increase in Hate Crime or incidents in London. We do however remain highly aware that certain events can spur intolerance, hate or extremism. We would appeal to anyone who witnesses or suffers any hate of any type to immediately report it to us so that we can quickly take action and catch those who are responsible.

Regards,

PC Sarah Bull
