World Kidney Day (WKD) is an annual global awareness and education event, held on the second Thursday in March. It provides the perfect opportunity to get out in the community and share the WKD message with friends, family and people you meet.
Every year, countless local and national events are organised by kidney charities, healthcare professionals, patient groups and individuals who want to make a difference. We are encouraging everyone to get behind the campaign and try to organise an activity or event to celebrate the day and draw public attention to the need for kidney health – what can be done to protect kidneys before disease strikes, and to assist patients who already have chronic kidney disease.
World Kidney Day began in 2006 and the global campaign highlights a particular theme every year, which for 2015 will be:
KIDNEY HEALTH FOR ALL
Once again the UK initiative is being led by the Kidney Charities Together Group comprising the five leading kidney charities. For further details see About Us
