WOW – Women of the World Festival – Southbank 1st – 8th March 2015

WOW – Women of the World Festival – Southbank – Celebrating International Women’s Events. WOW is a global festival that celebrates the achievements of women and girls. Southbank Centre is at Belvedere Road, London, SE1 8XX.

Here are some a small taster of some the FREE Events – Talks and Debates being held at Southbank.

The BBC Radio 4 show broadcasts live from Royal Festival Hall. Just turn up.

Sunday 1st March to Thursday 5th March  – Women’s Hour BBC radio 4 residency 10.00 am 5.30pm – BBC R4
Thursday 6th March 10:00am – 11:00 am – Talk & debate Royal Festival Hall – BBC R4

Friday 6th March – Blurred Lines 10:15am – 11.00am Talks and debates. 2014 was an unprecedented year for the rights of women and girls, but are some things going backwards?
Friday 6th March – WOW/Stylist: 11:30 am – 12:30pm. Talks and debates. Which political party really puts gender equality at the heart of its policies
Friday 6th March – Black LGBTQI Rights and Activism – 2:30-3:30pm.. In 2015 the UK ranked top in Europe for LGBT rights for the third year in a row, but does this include the rights of LGBTQI people of colour?

Saturday 7th March – WOW Now. BBC – 10:30AM-11-30am. Radio 1’s Gemma Cairney talks to teenage girls from across the UK in an investigation about the reality of being a girl RIGHT NOW.
Saturday 7th March – WOW Bites. 12:00-1:00pm. Several experts in their field share their knowledge.

Sunday 8th March – WOW Views On The News – 10:30 -11:30am. Start your day by getting the low-down on the headlines with Jude Kelly, Artistic Director of Southbank, and guests.
