Noisy neighbours?

In response to residents needs, Southwark Council have expanded their noise team. Although most of us are considerate of our neighbours, some spoil things for everyone else. If you have a noise issue, don’t grin and bear it, contact the council’s noise team for help. The team respond to reports quickly and will take enforcement action whenever necessary. If you are being disturbed by noise or nuisance you can call the 24 hour Contact Centre on 0207 525 5777 to report the problem.

The hours of operation of the noise team are as follows:

Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday 7.00am to 2.30 am

At weekends the service operates for 24 hrs., from 7.00am on Friday through to 2.30 am on Monday morning.

During operational times, the Noise & Nuisance Team will aim to visit within 60 minutes of receiving the call and take action to reduce the noise. However, if your call is received by the Contact Centre outside of operational hours, an Officer will call to discuss the issue the next working day.

For more details go to www.southwark.gov.uk/info/412/noise_problems or call the council’s contact centre on 0207 525 5777 and ask for the noise team.

ABOUT the festival

Every year in May, Potters Fields park, in the heart of London’s South Bank, becomes the setting for the ‘Days of Poland’ event in the United Kingdom.

This Polish festival, organised by 2SistersPR, is held to celebrate Polish culture in the UK.

London residents and visitors are introduced to traditional and contemporary Polish folk music, arts and tasty cuisine.

This family friendly festival includes a variety of attractions for children and adults, including face painting, giant bubble shows, Polish national dances and live music including prominent Polish musicians.

So come along and join in the fun.
